The dogs! The patient Beagle, Tyke. The lovable prima donna, Roxy. They were SO happy to be off the ropes. I wish I had a video camera of Tyke. He was wide open, back and forth, like a wild dog.

Good News, Bad News
Good news: my new home has high ceilings
Bad news: I need a ladder to change a light bulb.
Good news: this house is HUGE
Bad news: it takes twice as long to get dressed in the morning
Bad news: the laundry room is piped for a propane dryer; I have an electric dryer
Good news: my friend loaned me a propane dryer she has and was not using (WOW!)
Good news: the home has central heat and air
Bad news: the heat is forced air that uses propane at $3.35 a gallon
Good news: we have a huge back yard!
Bad news: the quote to fence the yard was well over $3000
Good news: the back yard is fenced and NO we did not pay that! I have a wonderful creative husband. He, Kevin and Greg worked all last week end to put up a very nice fence. The whole yard is fenced and we did it for less than $700.
Good news: I get to go see a friend on the East coast. She is a fellow blogger: A Day in the Life of a Preacher's Wife, in my side bar. She used to live here in the desert where I live. Now she is a Pastor's wife in the cold!
Bad news: It is COLD where she lives.
I am REALLY looking forward to getting to visit with her and her family. It will be an extremely busy, fun week end. Maybe I won't even notice the cold. :/

Flowers
This past Thursday I called my mom and she sounded awful! She has the respiratory crud going around; she could barley talk. As I hung up the phone, I thought poor thing I should send her some flowers. Unlike times in the past, when I had the thought but was just too busy, I drove right to the flower shop and ordered her up some. They were delivered on Friday. When I called to see if they had arrived she couldn't stop about how pretty they were. I was very happy with myself, because my random act of kindness had brought her a true moment of joy.
Later that afternoon I was still putting things away in my new home and heard a knock at the door. At the door were 2 young girls holding a vase of flowers! They were my neighbors, welcoming us to the neighborhood. I was boiled over by their kindness. They wouldn't come in. The envelop that held the card read "many blessings". Not only did I feel welcomed to the neighborhood, I felt like God was rewarding me for taking the time to be kind to my mom. I don't mean to sound hokey.
It's just that I tend to have these thoughts, but never follow through with them. On this day God allowed me to feel the love both ways. I heard the joy in my mom's voice and then I myself got to experience the joy of receiving.
It's the little, unexpected things that mean so much!

The MOvers are coming, The movers are coming!
So why am I posting a blog?!
I haven't transfered my cable over and therefore have no idea when I'll have the chance to blog again. Never fear, I will be back. However, for my future sanity and possibly my son's High School success, I have chosen to ignore the need of making the phone call that would cause TV and computer access to follow us to our new home.
I usually have Wed days off, so our move was planned to happen on Thursday and Friday. Yesterday I was told that I could have today off. As I left work yesterday the moving man called and asked if we could do the move Wed and Thursday instead. YES!
I have been a bit worried because there are workers tearing up and redoing our street. I kept wondering if it would interfer with our move. My question was answered with a phone message yesterday. Instead of working on our street Wed as planned it wouldn't start until Friday.
All these things would seem circumstansial, but I believe it was a God thing!
I'll be around. Eventually.
