Mother's Day
The kids and I had a great day. We went to a 5 acre rose garden. The garden is owned privatly, but it was opened to the public on this day. We had so much fun seeing the roses and taking pictures. Gabrielle received an early birthday present of an exceptionally nice camera. She took gobs of pictures. I wish I could post them all on here for you to see. I will post, probablly too many. Like I said we had a blast and I have family that will enjoy seeing them. If you aren't family, I hope you enjoy them as well.
When we got home the kids made me lunch. It has been a really nice day.

Oh Happy Day!!
Can I just say that I *love* summer time?!
When the sun is out and it is hot, I feel alive. I just can't even begin to describe the joy and energy I have.
Granted my age has taken a toll and I no longer desire to take a brisk walk in the heat or do yard work. But to be running errands and seeing all kinds of colors in the way of flowers; just makes me smile. To jump in the car and say, "My goodness it's hot!" Just makes me want to sing.
I made it to church this morning and then straight to Wal-mart to buy flowers. I am so excited about planting them in containers. Then I remembered my dear daughter and her artistic ways so I called her. She's coming over today to help me plant them. It will be hard at first because I want to "do". But she does have an eye for color and creativity so I look forward to spending time with her and seeing what she creates.
I also bought some shade to put up for the dogs. My back porch gets the direct morning sun. We have a nice over hang but there is NO shade. My Beagle woke me this morning standing at the back door with his rope in mouth whining. I thought he wanted to play. However as soon as the door was opened the rope was dropped and he bee lined it for the cool tile.
On days like this I miss my East Coast Southern roots. To be on the beach soaking up the sun and listening to the ocean pound the shore, or on a screened in porch drinking sweet iced tea. Oh My!
