I posted pictures of my bathroom plain, then one of the ridiculously tall palm tree and now these. I'm really happy with the plants I have and I seem to have this vision in my head, but I can't get it to transpire into reality. The pot in the corner is not pretty. It is one I already had on hand and was thinking that if I planted something in it that would grow over the side, then the pot would be hidden. I have found some pots that I like but they aren't the right shape for what I want. The other pots are the right shape, but I don't like the color. At this time all the plants are actually down in the tub so I'll remember to water them. Any suggestions? What color pots should I use. I tend to like a variety. However, my husband tends to like uniformity. I thought it'd be fun to see what ideas you guys came up with.

Happy Birthday!
Today is my husband's birthday! He is in Okinawa, not here with me. You know what, for him his birthday was yesterday! Weird. He called me this a.m. at about 0330, forgetting the time difference, and announced that today was his birthday. I think he may be feeling a little lonely. What do you think? I did send him 3 cards in the mail. I'm not sure if he's gotten them yet. I can't wait for him to get home! If you'd like to wish him a belated birthday his e-mail is:
whoami_1790@juno.com.
It is also the birthday of a really good friend of mine. This friend has been a wonderful Christian example, mentor and encourager for me. Happy Birthday Ms. Julie!

Kitten
*Updated 6-1-08: Kitten has gone to live with the 9 yr. old that lives across the street. I believe that even though there are 3 other cats that already live there, she'll be very loved.
Kitten came home wrapped in my daughter's sweatshirt. My first response was "NO!" Then I said only in your room. Every thing; cat and all that goes with having a cat. Kitten has snuck into my heart. 'She' is adorable. She plays and she has learned to purr. If I'm laying on the floor, when she wears herself out she curls up next to me. At first I wouldn't have any thing to do with her because I didn't want to get attached. We still call her 'Kitten', because she isn't supposed to stay. We have all asked everyone we can think of and every one we've asked says no. I would still prefer her to go to a different home, but I have a feeling if she stays long enough to gain a name I will have lost the battle.

Truely Blessed & Very Proud Continued
We celebrated Gabrielle's birthday that same evening. That is why she is wearing the cap. We had Greg and his parents over for dinner, cake and ice cream. Michael and I had given her a new camera for her birthday before he went back to Okinawa. That is what I'm using to take pictures with. Then Greg and his parents gave her a tripod and a really nice camera case. She was on cloud nine. It was a really great day.

Gabrielle took this picture with her new camera using the timer and her new tripod. Pretty good, huh?!
Truely Blessed & Very Proud!
On May 22, 1989 the Lord saw fit to bless Michael and I with a healthy, beautiful baby girl.
On May 22, 2008 our baby girl turned 19 and walked in her High School Graduation Ceremony. It was a very special day.
She actually completed her credits for her High School Diploma in November 2007, but couldn't walk until May 2008. I am so very proud of her!

I Have Lost My Bragging Rights!
When I met my husband I had a 20 gallon fresh water fish tank. I had gone to a ceramic store and painted a tug boat which I sank to the bottom with copper pennies. No one bothered to tell me that copper could be toxic to fish, not even the fish store where I went at least once a month to buy the same fish over and over.
Once Michael and I were married and settling into our new home I wanted to set up my tank. He wanted nothing to do with it. Finally one day while he was at work I set the tank up myself. Once it was up I could almost always find Michael submerged to his elbows in my little tank. His interest grew into quite the hobby. He would leave Saturday morning around nine saying he would be home in a little bit; 8 hours later I would call the fish store to see if he was still there. His interest grew to a 50 gallon tank that he put Synadontis catfish and African Chiclids in. (I'm sure I haven't spelled the name of those fish correctly, but for a very poor speller it's close enough.)
Then it grew to a 75 gallon salt water tank. It was gorgeous. Michael spent a lot of time with and in this tank. Then he got orders to Desert Storm. I had 2 children 13 months apart; the oldest age 14 months. He left me pages of instructions telling how to care for that tank. He wanted me to do some sort of something with it every week. I fed the fish and checked the salinity. He was gone 8 months I changed the water twice. Not one fish died. They all lived the whole time he was gone. Before he left he was losing one every two weeks. For obvious prideful reasons this has always been one of my favorite fish stories to tell.
Now to present day: Michael went back to Okinawa, leaving me with a 20 gallon tank in prime shape. All of a sudden all the fish are acting drunk and I've lost 4 fish. I feel awful! He is handling it very well; not really concerned. The tank is fresh water but the fish were kind of pricey and they had gotten large so it was no fun disposing of them.
So, you see, I have lost all bragging rights! I am treating the tank, but no positive results yet.
I could write pages of fish stories. But that will do for now.
Stay tuned for pictures of gifts Michael has sent. I can't wait for that man to be home!
