God is Still Good and I'm Still "Talking"

Saturday morning we woke and got on the road at the time we said we would. That is a miracle! Not only did it happen it happened with NO angry words exchanged. Yes, we did pray about it the night before. We picked Quincy up on time, talked with his parents and got on the road.

We went to Bakersfield to hear a seminar on Creation vs Evolution. The ride went fast and we had great fun. For some reason we can put the four of us in the house and it's war, but in the car we have great fun. Quincy is very quiet though very much a part of our craziness. We arrived in Bakersfield early, had lunch and went to the church that was sponsoring the seminar.

It did not start on time, in fact it was 30 minutes late starting and we were 30 minutes early. The natives were getting restless. Once it started the speaker had to stay with in the pre arranged schedule. So the first hour talk was crammed into 30 minutes. There were many distractions for me throughout the whole thing. Many talkers, cell phone talkers and noisy children. I was amazed at the lack of respect for the guest speaker.

On a more positive note the material covered was excellent and the speaker was very approachable and conversational after the presentation. We walked away with 4 or 5 DVD's a book and a much lighter wallet. :) Maybe we'll have a movie night at our house some time soon.

Then we went out to eat and found a motel room. Well, 2 motel rooms, one for the guys and one for the girls. :)

The next morning was another miracle. We actually checked out of the motel at 0930. That is usually when we are rolling our lazy selves out of the bed. Being in a motel is a luxury vacation which means sleeping in, right? Gabrielle and Quincy were actually the first up and dressed, so they went to breakfast in the motel coffee shop while the rest of us dressed. Then they sat with us while we ate. Then we hit the book store for a while and started home.

I just love hearing my husband talk about the Bible. The things he retains and has learned just from reading and studying. I say just; I know the Holy Spirit is involved. I wonder if God brought us Quincy for Quincy's sake or for Michael's sake. I'm excited to see what the Lord does with this. Course Gab would say that Quincy came for her. :)

Sounds like a great time. Isn't it great to hear our husbands share the gospel with someone else. I love to hear my husband speak to someoneelse about the gospel message.
